The True Story of A Young Boy.
Suspicion & Survival - Disaster & Disquise.
We're proud to present the Volume II of the spell-binding graphic novel Iron Curtain, taking you on the journey of Chaimkeh's (a.k.a Syuma's) suspenseful childhood. Living as a Jewish boy in Samarkand in 1970, he's torn between two opposing worlds, forced to make wrenching choices that will decide the future of his soul.
Children his age living in free countries, are able to practice Torah and Mitzvos as they please, while Chaim'keh, his friends and family, grapple with intense spiritual dilemmas every day. Although no longer under the threat of death, as the Soviet Union had stopped imprisoning Jews for spreading Torah or mitzvos, there were other ramifications: A Jew that insisted on clinging to Judaism would suddenly lose his livelihood or any hope of being allowed to leave that dark country. The struggle becomes even more real for a Jewish boy in a Communist school - he was forced to attend - finding himself under increasing pressure to betray his family and People.
Will he relent?
The hero of the Iron Curtain series, Reb Shmuel Levin sheyichye, who lives in Kiryat Malachi, Israel, partnered with Malchus Hakeser Publishing to share his story in this gripping and adventurous graphic novel format.
