The year was 5678 (1927). The soldiers and officials of the lictatorial Communist regime in the Soviet Union were loing everything to prohibit the Jewish way of life in the country, wreaking havoc among those studying Torah and fulfilling mitzvos. The Communist party's Jewish Department, the "Yevsektsia," proclaimed an all-out war gainst the spreading of Yiddishkeit, achieving much success n a variety of fronts. However, it had failed to triumph over he one man who fearlessly continued to fight back - the ebbe Rayatz. With the help of his chassidim instilled with spirit of complete self-sacrifice, he maintained with great etermination the secret existence of the vast network of nderground Talmud Torahs and yeshivos. Although few gainst many, the chassidim succeeded in ensuring a pure and holy Chassidic education for their children.
